About Brandon Grass

Hi, I'm Brandon! I'm a husband, dad of three, dog lover, and the founder of Wake Tidy. I've called the Okanagan home for the past 15 years, and after building my first commercial cleaning company and spending nearly a decade in real estate, I'm back doing something I've always loved.

A Little About Me

I've always had an entrepreneurial side, but commercial cleaning is a business I've had a genuine passion for since the beginning.

Back in 2006, I started my first cleaning company, Cleaning Concepts, which eventually became Servalux.

Over the next ten years, I grew that business from the ground up, working with restaurants and hospitality businesses across Canada.

I loved the work. I loved meeting business owners, building relationships, training people, and figuring out how to make things better.

And I especially loved seeing the difference a proper cleaning could make.

There's something satisfying about bringing a neglected floor back to life or tackling a restaurant kitchen that needs some serious attention. I know that probably sounds a little strange to some people, but I've always enjoyed it.

A Different Chapter

When my son Nixon was born, my priorities changed.

At the time, running the business meant spending significant amounts of time travelling and being away from home. I wanted to be around for my family, so I made the decision to move into real estate.

I spent roughly the next decade helping people buy and sell homes, building relationships, and learning a tremendous amount about business, sales, and customer service.

It was an important chapter in my life, and one I'm grateful for.

But here's the thing.

I never stopped loving the cleaning business.

For years, I found myself wondering what I could have built if I'd stayed in the industry.

Eventually, I realized I didn't want to keep wondering.

Why I Started Wake Tidy

Starting Wake Tidy wasn't about trying something new. It was about returning to something I'd always loved, with a lot more experience and a different perspective.

Looking back at my first cleaning company, I can see things I would do differently.

I was heavily involved in the day-to-day cleaning. I enjoyed being hands-on, but I hadn't spent enough time building the systems, training, and leadership needed for the business to operate consistently without me being everywhere at once.

That's one of the biggest lessons I've carried into Wake Tidy.

I want to build a cleaning company where expectations are clear, people are properly trained, the work is checked, and customers aren't left wondering whether things are being looked after.

If something gets missed, I want us to know about it, fix it, and make sure the correction holds.

I still love being hands-on, but I also know that building a great company means building a great team.

I've always believed it's possible to build a world-class cleaning company. Wake Tidy is my opportunity to put everything I've learned into practice, starting right here in the Okanagan.

Life Outside of Work

My wife and I live in West Kelowna with our three kids, Nixon, Olivia, and Mackenzie (Mack), along with our two French bulldogs, Zoey and Josie.

And yes, I married my kindergarten crush. Somehow, that worked out pretty well!

We've been fortunate to call the Okanagan home for the past 15 years, and I still appreciate what a great place it is to raise a family.

I love spending time around the lakes, heading downtown to Bernard Avenue and City Park, and getting out skiing with Nixon whenever we have the chance.

Then there are the dogs.

Zoey and Josie have a pretty relaxed approach to life. Most days, you'll find them sunbathing on the patio or taking over the back of the living room couch.

Their only real requirement seems to be that they're touching somebody at all times.

They're good company.

A Little Nerd Talk

I'm also a bit of a personal development nerd.

I'm an avid reader and genuinely enjoy learning about business, leadership, human behaviour, and anything that might help me become a better person.

Over the years, I've read more than 500 books. I love the idea of having a growth mindset, thinking 10X bigger about what's possible, and constantly looking for ways to improve.

Not because I have everything figured out. Far from it.

I just enjoy learning, challenging myself, and seeing how much better I can become.

A lot of what I've learned has shaped the way I'm approaching Wake Tidy, particularly around leadership, training, systems, and looking after customers.

And if there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that there's always something new to learn.

Thanks for Stopping By

I appreciate you taking the time to learn a little about me.

If you're a business owner or manager looking for a cleaning company that genuinely cares about doing the work properly, I'd welcome the opportunity to meet you.

I'm excited about what we're building at Wake Tidy, and even more excited about the people we'll get to work with along the way.

I always enjoy connecting with other business owners, people in the Okanagan community, and anyone who shares an interest in business and personal growth. Feel free to say hello on your favourite social media platform.
